Gulf Pines KOA Holiday – Milton, Fl – Destination Location

Rates: $56 – $66

Located just off I-10 this location could not have worked out better for our first stop. The staff was great at check in and escort to site. We are in site D3, level, open and had a patio. The patio was busted up but we were able to park close to have a step out to the pad. This is right off the highway and road noise could be an issue on the front two rows of the campsite. The park is clean and well maintained. We were 4 sites away from the bathhouse and laundry. There is plenty of green space between rigs in our row. If you have a dog as we do, there are ample places to walk and relieve the dog. The place is very quiet at night. Strict rules are enforced and frankly welcomed. As for the proximity to major towns or cities, Crestview just east of us it’s about a 30min trip and the same to Pensacola to the west. I would say the only drawback would be the approach to the Park. There is a highway divider right in front of the park entrance. If your coming from the north heading south on RT 87 there is no way to turn into the park without making a u-turn somewhere down the road. You will need to find a way to get to 1-10 and head north on RT 87. The exit presents a similar issue, you will need to head north on I-87 and make a u-turn to get to I-10. I would give this three out of five ⛺️ ⛺️ ⛺️ …. and would return if we were near.

Update: 6/18 –  We have since revisited this location and have some additional advice. This has been a very wet year in the panhandle of FL. We noticed the sites in row D & E lower numbers had ponding going on during heavy downpours. I’m not saying you will be flooded out but it will be wet until it all drains.  I had some KOA points stored up and used them to upgrade to the patio sites…. could not have been happier with them. They are elevated and drain well.
