About Us

Ginny and I are what I’ve recently started calling “Most Timers.” Let me explain.

You often hear about folks who sell everything, hit the road, and dive headfirst into full-time RV living. We chose a slightly different path for our retirement travels.

We love our home in Middle Tennessee. It grounds us and gives us a sense of “home base” that we value deeply. But a loving home hasn’t stopped us from roaming. We travel seasonally and explore the country in our RV, hence the Most Timer label.

Since setting out in the early summer of 2016, we’ve logged more than 83,000 miles across two rigs. Along the way, we’ve experienced plenty of adventures, made our fair share of mistakes, and learned more about RV life than we ever imagined.

On these pages, we’ll do our best to share it all: the highs, the hiccups, and everything in between

For my part, writes Robert Louis Stevenson , “I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.”

Meet Team Love To Wander RV

Hello, we are Dale and Ginny

Ginny and I first crossed paths in the mid-’70s at W.T. Grant in Chittenango, New York. I was trying my hand at furniture sales; she was working behind the scenes in the back office. Just two young people crossing paths, with no idea our story was only just beginning.

Life has a way of circling back. Years later, mutual friends brought us together again — and this time, the timing was right. We started dating, and not long after, I took a job with Lafayette Radio & Electronics. One step led to another, and before I knew it, I was climbing the corporate ladder and transferring to Indianapolis.

A little later, I talked Ginny into taking a leap of faith and moving out with me. I chased opportunities in the music business while she built her own career in retail management. After more moves than we can easily count, we finally landed in Louisville, Kentucky, where we were married in 1977.

Ginny stood by me through what became a 32-year career in the music industry, keeping the home fires burning and raising our daughter, Kate, along the way. Today, with those chapters behind us, we’re both retired — grateful for the road we’ve traveled together, and the life we built along the way.

When the RV bug hit

I think I caught the bug as a teen. On a bright sunny day in June 1965, my Dad arrives with a brand new 12′ pull behind travel trailer.

It would soon become my backyard camping spot, or a late-night sleep it off. We had that camper for a number of years. The trips were often short, a fishing stream north of town, a weekend trip to the state park. As for the wandering, I have always been the one in the family to wander off, exploring, taking photos, just observing my surroundings.

Grand Design

At Grand Design their goal is simple – continue leading the industry with quality products while improving the customer’s RV experience before, during, and after the sale. They strive for nothing less than customers for life.

Highland Ridge – We could not be happier with our HR Roamer RES 34 7 Fifth Wheel. The company contrary to many has stood behind there warranties and has provided very good customer service when called upon. The rig has had its issues but in general, has been a solid performer over the last 3 years.

Dunlap RV – I would be filling this page if I rolled out all the good things about this dealership. We purchased our rig at the Lebonan, TN location the pricing was extremely fair. The service department has been fantastic and a lifesaver on many occasions.

Divi Theme – I use the Divi theme from ElegantThemes.com on our website and I love it! The best part of  Divi is its Pagebuilder that lets you design the pages of your website using a simple drag and drop system. If you don’t know any CSS and HTML coding, but still want to be able to design a unique look for your website, Divi is a great theme to use.

Bluehost – Starting out you need a web host for your website. We started with Bluehost because it’s extremely easy to set up your first website with their one-click automatic WordPress installation. They have good support when you need some help, and their low prices are very hard to beat.

RVTrip Wizard – There are a number of free applications out there for you to use for trip planning. However, if you are looking for route guidance that takes into consideration your rig look no further. I like the fact they have also included with their annual fee a phone map guidance app at no additional cost. New features are being added it seems monthly, the latest being a driving radius driven by actual road data rather than by “crow flys”.
