DA100 Air Conditioner Silencer

The WackO Products DA100 is an air conditioner silencer kit that allows you to run your A/C unit without all the noise. Never try listening to your TV over your air conditioner or being kept awake by the unbearable noise ever again.

We have road-tested this product for the last 5 months and find that it totally lives up to its hype. The noise from the air-conditioner in our living room has been cut down substantially.

Our Rig

The Open Range Roamer has a racetrack vent system that feeds air through the entire rig. With the AC Silencer, there has been a noticeable increase in circulation due to the installation. The way the previous vent was set up the cool air would be forced into the system but have a release vent to force air into the living room if needed. This release vent was not sealed tight and cool air would escape. The AC Silencer setup requires you to block off that cool air vent channel forcing the cool air into your circulation system.

The Cost

This is not a cheap fix. The unit runs about $198.00 and can be purchased direct or through the RV Upgrades Store. The fit, if you have a curved ceiling like I do, will not be as clean as the factory vent. Factory vents will bend with the ceiling curve this unit does not, so there is a small gap on either side. This does not impact performance.

American-made unit is built well and should take the rigors of RV travel. We have an additional air conditioner in the bedroom and I plan to install one there as well. I would highly recommend the upgrade if you have the cash to spare.
