Campground ⛺️ review
Cajun Palms RV Resort – 1055 N. Barn Road, Breaux Bridge, LA 70517
Park Web Site: Cajun Palms RV Resort
Update 4/07/2019
The update is based on our recent stay over the weekend.
This is a campground that some people will love and others will hate. Words to the wise, if you are here on the weekend during spring or summer get ready for a parade of golf carts, loud music and over-served adults letting off steam from the work week. During the tailgate football season, it is a bit more civilized and family friendly. The weekdays starting at 11 am on Sunday through Friday at noon are quiet and the park is empty by comparison. If you want a place that has a lot of socializing opportunities and family oriented activities, you may like this. If you’re looking for something quiet and woodsy, you probably won’t.
September 2018 Stay
This review is based on our stay over a 4 day weekend during football season.
Our first priority when picking this location was the drainage in this area of the country. Most parks after reading countless reviews indicated that they became a mud pit during the rainy season. This park had none of that.
Amenities
While we didn’t use the pool or rec hall, they are impressive. This park It truly is an RV resort with 2 pools, large hot tub (adults only), a massive water park for the kids, 2 stocked fishing ponds, mini golf, volleyball, playground, video arcade, workout room, theatre room, several bar areas, nice park store, cabin rentals, large laundry area and propane sold on site..The bathrooms are spotless and they seem to have a lot of staff to keep things working and attend to you should you need something
The Sites
All sites are concrete, level and double wide (with a handful of triple wide sites). They offer pull through, back in and even covered RV sites. You have a pretty normal amount of green space in between sites. There have been a number of reviews that indicated the sites where tight. Ours for the record was spacious(site 44L) Sites 36 – 44 are pull through with plenty of room. We are traveling in a 36′ Fith Wheel and Dually all in about 60′. I will admit that on the northwest side of the park, they are very tight. Get there map and google the location to get a good overhead look before you book.
Power and Pressure
Good power/sewer placement, good water pressure, 70+ cable channels
included an excellent Verizon signal. Trash picked up daily from your site. While dog-friendly, there is NO dog park and limited grass areas to walk your pet without being on someone’s site. The weekend we stayed the park was pretty full, with college and pro football fans. When we arrived on Thursday the park was deserted, come Friday afternoon there was a steady flow or RV’s. I’m sure it’s packed during the summer as well.
The weekends can be noisy and there’s no shortage of golf carts riding around. There’s not much else to do in the area, but Lafayette is close to visit and Baton Rouge is less than an hour away. . As I said this place is not for everyone but it did the job plus for us. I am giving this a ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️ 1/2 out of 5 review.
Laundry/Bathhouse: The bathhouses are cleaned regularly, and are very clean. The Laundry is great but located near the pool and the far northeast side of the property, so you will be driving to that.
Grocery: You have plenty of opinions nearby.
Restaurants: You will have plenty to choose from, some walking distance from the resort. Short drives will take you to some of the best Cajun food and music you can find.
Activities: Weekend activities abound. You can find just about anything you are interested in, golf, swimming, bike riding, touring the area, music the works.
