KOA Carlsbad Holiday, Carlsbad, NM. – Two Day Location.

Rates: $48 – $68

Let me first say, there was a severe drought in this part of the country. Most of the sites we have stayed at on our I-10 trip have had very little growing grass. There is grass, but I’m sure the water restrictions or general lack of water is holding these resorts back from keeping these sites green. I have designated this site as a Two Day. The reason, it might be the best RV park within driving distance to Carlsbad Caverns and Roswell. It is approximately a 50 min drive in either direction. The staff upon check-in were great. The sites are very level gravel, well maintained. There are picnic tables and fire pits, I would not have struck a match due to the dry conditions. We were escorted to B10 right across from the pool that I have pictured below. There is ample space to walk the dog and a small green area at the end of the park that is fenced. The water is very hard, so I would be using bottled water when you can. They do serve food and will deliver dinner to your rig if requested. The Internet is good but can be slow as the park fills. At the moment this place is nothing but gravel, sand and a few trees with very little green space due to the drought. The winds of April were howling and forced us to stay an additional day, the staff could not be more helpful to make that happen. The park was packed but they made it happen. For location, staff, and facilities I am giving this ⛺️ ⛺️ ⛺️ ⛺️….out of 5 you will be very happy staying here if you are visiting the Caverns

Laundry/Bathhouse: Large, work great and clean but one word of advice the water is very hard. Not sure they soften.

Grocery Stores: Within 25 + mins of the park. Would suggest stocking up in town prior to arriving at the park. You will be cooking for convenience.

Restaurants: Within in 30 mins of the park. We did not visit any in Carlsbad. We did stop in Roswell for lunch at Big D’s – it was very good. They do have light fare, BBQ at the KOA and will deliver.

Activities: The park does have a pool and ample space to walk your dog with a dog run. Trash cans are available to rid your dog waste. They did not have activities that we where aware Carlsbad Caverns south of park and Rowell to the north.
