Full Hook-Up Pull Through – $48
But For Some Road Noise
This Resort could have made our Gold List very easily if it was not for the road noise. We needed an overnight location with a full hookup during early July. This RV park seemed to fit the bill perfectly.
This is truly a hidden gem on your way east out of Houston. We travel the I-10 corridor often. Typically we will stay in San Antonio, then head east to Lousiana for a final stop in Florida before heading north to TN.
We needed a break spot between San Antonia and Beau Bridges, LA. It was early July and the temperatures were climbing into the high 90’s. We had booked a Harvest Host but were now concerned about the lack of hookups to run our AC. We pulled the plug on our Harvest Host staff and booked this location the day of.
This resort is advertised as an Adult-Oriented Resort. I would say it lives up to its claim. They also indicate that nightly Pull-Throughs are welcome. This gave us the impression that the park largely consisted of full-time residents. That turned out to be not far from the truth.
Wanders Take
A) Site Quality: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/ 5
The sites are all concrete pads with a very wide berth and plenty long to accommodate our 35′ fifth wheel. Each of the sites has a very large green space with at least one or two trees for shade in rows A-F.
Insights
- The park is gated and the entire resort is very well maintained. The roadways are all concrete and in very good condition.
- This is a seasonal stay Resort. 80% of the park seemed to be occupied by long-term renters. I would say the bulk of them work in the local oil industry. Exon Headquarters is but a short ride from the park.
- Upon arrival, the staff was cheerful, happy to see you, and check-in was very easy. There is no escort to your site, but that did not pose a problem as the directions were very clear. This is a gated park with no personal at that gate during business hours. You will be given a gate key to enter the property.
- As I mentioned they do have solid shade and are pull-through sites. There is one exception regarding shade and that is Row K.
- The rest of the property consists of back-in sites. The bonus is rows G-J are covered. I am not sure how available they might be during the summer months. They were all taken when we called.
- There are 7 lake view sites that appeared to have long-term renters on them.
- I am not going to ding this location for road noise. It was early summer and we had our windows closed with the AC running. We heard the road noise, but it was not overwhelming. I would say if we stayed in the fall I might have a different opinion with the windows open.
B) Facilities: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5
This park is well maintained and in great working condition. The sites are level with power pedestals, water, and sewer located mid-ship. Being close to I-10 we did like the fact that the Resort was gated. You will have very easy access to I-10 from the frontage road the resort is located on. The Resort is just spotless and all of the grass area when we were there had been cut and raked.
All sites are equipped with cable featuring about 30 channels. Wi-fi was good but nothing special, services can be upgraded. Your check-in time is 2 pm, check-out is 11 am.
C) Amenities: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5
Hard to find holes with their offerings in this category. You will find a very nice pool area with seating and shade. The gazebo that is situated next to the pool has seating and a gas BBQ grill for your use. The office houses the Laundry, Men’s and Women’s bathhouse, and a convenience store. There are horseshoe pits, a basketball court, a fire pit, and a picnic area all located a short walk from the pull-through sites.
There is a convenient dump station as you enter the main parking lot and propane fill. The covered back-in sites as mentioned may be reserved for long-term renters. However, you might check to see if they have an overnight available during the summer months.
D) Location: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5
Here is where I will ding them a point. Put this resort in any other location and it would deserve a perfect 5 on my scale. The proximity to I-10 does create some road noise that many may find a problem. As I mentioned above we did not during our stay in July. Maybe it is just a matter of getting a spot in rows D-F a bit further off the road to calm the noise down.
The access heading east and our departure in the same direction were very easy. We do like to be on the side of the city that will give us the least amount of traffic in the am when we are leaving. This fit the bill perfectly as we were heading east to our next stop.
E) Paw – Friendliness – 🐾🐾🐾🐾/5
Zoey did like this stop. She had plenty of green space to relieve herself. There was no fenced-in dog park, we did find a nice designated dog walk area. You could easily walk the entire park to get a little exercise for you and the dog.
Wanderers Overall Rating: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️.6/5

Truma AquaGO Comfort Water Heater
We decided to invest in our 310GK-R and upgrade the Hot Water Heater. We were tired of the rotten egg smell regardless of the aluminum or magnesium anode rods or what I did to clean the tank out. Our Suburban Water heater was working fine, but it was time for a change. Long hot showers on city water and conservation while boondocking was the priority to make this move.

The path to finding our dream RV begins right here, with Deloris our Solitude 310GK-R. Over the past three years, we have worked diligently on upgrades that would enhance the RVing experience.
Keeping A RV Cool In Extreme Heat
The easy fix would be to find that perfect site. The one that has plenty of shade with your nose facing west and your butt facing east. However, that is a fantasy in today’s world when it comes to finding a site. You do not always have the intel to understand what your getting into or the resort randomly places you on the property. Awnings are great and provide some needed shade. If you plan to step away from the rig for any length of time you will not want to leave them extended.
Power Make Over
The first order of business once we had decided on the Solutiude 310GK-R was the batteries. After researching battery types, solar compatibility, and recommendation from other RVers we landed on Battle Born Ion Lithium. Battle Born batteries can provide you with two to three times more power than a lead-acid battery which allows you to stay off the grid longer without having to hassle with a noisy generator. Battle Born Batteries are also capable of being charged up to five times faster than a standard lead-acid battery. Now we can put our battery anxieties to rest and finally focus on our next RV adventure.
