Little Rock North KOA

Little Rock North KOA Site R2

Written By Dale Libby

I was bitten by the RV bug at a very early age. The day my dad brought home that 12′ pull behind camper my world changed. Tent camping was fine but this rig had running water, toilet, shower, beds and a small stovetop. Times have changed but my love for RVing never dieded.

RV Overnight Park Review – Little Rock North KOA – Little Rock, Arkansas

Site R2 Patio directly across from the office.

Some of us need them, the elusive overnight location that does not have a Walmart, Cracker Barrel, Love’s, or Cabella attached. Free is great but that is just not for you. You are looking for a safe, inexpensive location with power, water, sewer, and a level place to park without unhooking. Little Rock-North KOA will offer you just that if you pick the right site. Let’s walk it down.

Price: $45 a night average with KOA Card

A) Site Quality: ⛺️⛺️⛺️.5/5

This is a bit of a crapshoot when it comes to this location. Don’t get me wrong the folks here are fantastic, friendly, and will work with you. We have stayed here twice, only as overnight so this will be an abbreviated review. I would highly recommend calling them to make your reservation. You could use the KOA portal but you may get a surprise when you arrive. Not all their pull-through sites are created equal. Many have tight exits, putting you in a situation that calls for maneuvering around parked trucks or cars in front of you.

Insights

  • This park fills up fast during the late afternoon. They are conveniently located directly from I-40 off I-440. The bulk of their business is that quick overnighter. You will need to call early to pick up a site the same day. Being so close to the highway you will get a bit of road noise if you are in the back-in sites or Y1 -Y13.
  • Many of the sites in this park will give you a bit of a wake-up when it comes to picking up and leaving. During our first stay, we were assigned B16 which seemed like a perfectly good back-in. We had a Class A next to us in B17, with his toad park in front of his rig. The turn to exit our site was going to be very tight with his car and the truck parked in site B7. He took notice and moved his vehicle out of the way so we could exit without incident.
  • The back-in sites Y14 – Y29 are occupied by long stay patrons. As are many of the Y1-Y13 sites.
  • Your best bets for a quick exit without obstructions depending on the length of your rig will be as follows. B1-B4, G11-14, G1-G4, R1-R5, or R9-R14. Be aware not all of these sites are 50 amps sites, many are 30 but that should get you by for the night.
  • There is plenty of shade here, many of the sites have large trees. The sites, for the most part, are gravel and somewhat level. The patio sites are concrete and in good shape.
B) Facilities: ⛺️⛺️⛺️.5/5

You have Laundry, Restrooms, Showers, located conveniently in the Main Office building. They are small but well cared for.  These are the only facilities in the park. The machines were in perfect working order.

C) Amenities: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5

Pretty typical for a KOA location. You will find a nice pool, spa, Playground, propane a small grocery store, and an Ice Cream Parlor. The Parlor serves homemade local ice cream and it’s good. The pool was just opening up for the season, it was clean, there were tables and lounge chairs available. The Basketball court and horseshoe pit have seen better days. The wi-fi was very good and allowed us to stream, basic cable service, and great water pressure.

D) Location: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5

As I mentioned above this is a perfect overnight location if you choose the right site. You are directly off I-140 & I-440 which as I mentioned will create a little road noise if you are in the back end of the park. You will need to drive a bit if you are looking for a sit-down restaurant but you are here for an overnight. Break out the cooking gear & grill and enjoy the wooded setting. If you want the food to come to you, Papa Johns and American Pie deliver right to your site.

E) Paw – Friendliness – ????/5

Zoey gave this park, a big paws up approval. There are two penned in Pet Yards at the north end of the property. Both have grass, not large but give you a good place to relieve your dog. The woods create a nice environment to take walks with your dog as we do. There is plenty of grassy areas throughout the park for extra business. Trash bins are located near the front of the property.

Wanderers Overall Rating:  ⛺️⛺️⛺️.8/5

Trailer Aid

Trailer Aid

As an RV travel blogger and tower, I consider Trailer Aid part of my core “must-have” gear, right up there with a torque wrench and a good tire gauge. For most tandem-axle fifth-wheels, it’s a fast, stable way to get a flat off the ground without wrestling a jack under a heavy rig on the side of the highway. It’s not magic—you still have to respect weight ratings, axle spacing, and basic safety—but when a tire does go, this little ramp can turn a trip-ruiner into a quick, controlled pit stop and get you back to the fun part of RV travel.

Truma AquaGO Comfort Water Heater

We decided to invest in our 310GK-R and upgrade the Hot Water Heater. We were tired of the rotten egg smell regardless of the aluminum or magnesium anode rods or what I did to clean the tank out. Our Suburban Water heater was working fine, but it was time for a change. Long hot showers on city water and conservation while boondocking was the priority to make this move.
