Campground ⛺️ review

Meteor Crater RV  Park – INTERSTATE 40, EXIT 233 WINSLOW, AZ 86047

Park Web Site: Meteor Crater RV Park

Rates: $42 W/E/S.  $37 W/E

The Meteor Crater RV park is located just off Interstate 40 exit 233, less than a 1/4 mile away. There is a large parking lot that includes a Mobil Gas Station, RV friendly and Country Store check-in. The road noise from I-40 is not as noticeable as you might expect. The park is gated, the large parking area comes in handy if you are arriving with other RV’s.

Amenities

Meteor Crater EntryThis park is all about location and not about amenities. However, as I mentioned above there is a Convenience Store (office). You will be happy there is, as its about a 45 min+ drive to the closest city, Winslow, AR. They are open year round with the exception of Christmas Day. They have 71 RV sites, 26 Full hook-up W/S/E 50 amps, 45 E/W sites, with a total of 76 Pull Thru.

The Sites

All sites are gravel, level and double wide.  Meteor Crater RV SiteIf you are looking for grass, you find very little near the sites but plenty around the office area with shade. There are trees on either side of the sites that do provide a bit of shade. There are picnic tables, in good shape. They say that you will want to set up your camp chairs to enjoy the night sky and stars.

This was a two nite stay for us. We wanted to explore Meteor Crater, Winslow, Petrified, and Painted Desert National Parks. This did not leave us much time to use any of the facilities the park had to offer.

Power, Pressure & Wi-Fi

We did have an issue with water pressure during our stay. They were having an issue with their pumping station that did not get fixed until day two. The park was pretty empty at the time, probably a good thing. The pressure was so low that we went to our on board. You will find a good source of power, 50 amp at most sites. The WIFI was adequate but not fast. There is no cable, so enjoy the night sky, or hoast the batwing and grab some Winslow TV.

There are lots of wide open spaces for the kids to burn off energy or for you to walk your dog. The fenced in dog area is a bit to be desired, but large enough for the dogs to have some space.

I am giving this a ⛺️⛺️⛺️ out of 5 review. The park is run well, it could use some more green space but the location is second to none when it comes to visiting Meteor Crater, Winslow, and the National Parks.

Laundry/Bathhouse: The bathhouses are cleaned regularly, and are very clean. We did not use the laundry, but I would dare say that the would be in good working order. The owners definitely take pride in this park.

Grocery: You have plenty of options in Winslow, and for convenience items, the store on site will do.

Restaurants: You will have plenty to choose from in Winslow, but they are a good 45 min drive. So I would pack it in and eat in your RV.

Activities: A great base camp for your exploration of Northern Arizona. Scenic day trips can be enjoyed to nearby towns and attractions.  Easy access to I-40. Meteor Crater, Winslow, AZ, Painted Desert, and Petrified Forest National Parks are all within an easy drive.
