A) Site Quality: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5

Amazing would be one word to describe these sites. The park is well laid out for easy entry into your assigned site. The streets are paved, in decent shape, and wide. The sites are level large concrete with patio area and picnic table. You will have a very large apron of asphalt to park your toad or truck. I did not see any sites that appeared to be in disrepair with broken concrete. 

• We arrived around 30 mins early as we do most of the time. The staff was accommodating and ready for us. Check-in was quick and easy. The park at this time was 50% full. 
• Assigned site #34 we headed over to the location which was located close to the dog run. Not sure if that was planned by the staff, but I will give them points anyway for our location. 
• Set up was quick and easy with all services in proper locations and working. Leveling was as snap as the sites mentioned above were very level. 
• Your orientation in the park will be nose to the North and tail to the south. This will place your entryway facing east. The sites are very wide and there will be plenty of room to roll out your awning and set your chairs around. 
• You will find a handful of Supersites that can accommodate the largest of Class A rigs and toads. Ask for sites 161-164.
• There are a number of back-in sites with patios toward the rear of the site. The bulk of these appears to be occupied by long-term stays. 

B) Facilities: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5 

The facilities in this park are well places and in the best working order of any location, we have visited. The three bathhouses are located strategically and feature large private restrooms and showers that are very clean. You will find the 4 laundries located in the bathhouses and a larger one in the clubhouse. The machines are in great working order and costs are average for use. At the northeast corner of the park, you will find the clubhouse complex featuring the fitness center, pool, spa, and meeting room. We liked the adult-only spa and patio area fully equipped with grills and bathrooms. If you have children, the playground is located next to the clubhouse area. This is a grassed and pet-free area the extends on both sides of the Clubhouse.

C) Amenities: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5 

They are numerous, Office convenience store with groceries, souvenirs, RV supplies, ice, and propane. You will also find a game room open from 8 am -10 pm. Cable TV 40+ channels, Free wireless internet throughout the park. The wifi is fair, but not meant for streaming. You will find one large fenced-in dog run on the northwest corner of the property. There is also a large grassy area along the west side of the property to relieve your dogs with cans and bags. Trash bins are located on the 4 corners of the park. We found the Cell service for Verizon very good in the area. They do prepare Pizza, Burgers, and Wings Monday thru Saturday if you need a quick fix.

D) Location: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5 

This park is located approximately 20 mins from downtown Amarillo on the west side of town. It is off I40 and far enough back to limit any highway noise. About 10 mins away you will find a rather large Walmart, Sams, and Target for your grocery needs. The restaurant selection close by should suit any tastes.

E) Paw – Friendliness – 🐾🐾🐾🐾/5

Zoey gave this park, a big paws up. Plenty of ample green space and areas to relieve your dogs. The fenced-in dog run, large with bags and garbage can. We like to take morning and evening walks and this park lends itself nicely for this. You can get a good 1 1/2 loop around and through the park. We would have given this park a 5 paw rating but they lacked a dog wash and separate areas for small and large dogs.

Wanderers Take

This is a fantastic RV Park that I am sure will be a tough place to book once everyone catches on. They did fill up rather quickly the day we arrived. It will certainly be our go-to RV park if we are in the Amarillo area. I have to mention one thing that might be an issue but I can not substantiate it at this time. As you may or may not know, you are in cattle country. Your beef source is very close and kept in the stockyards that surround the area. I have been in Amarillo’s west side before and had a good whiff of cow manure come by. Depending on the winds you might be subject to the same in this park. We did one night and felt it may have been them using a honey wagon close by on one of the fields.

We will keep our noses on this and let you know if it becomes an issue. I will update my review accordingly.

Sight Seeing, Attractions

Palo Duro Canyon State Park – 11450 Park Road 5, Canyon, Texas 79015 Welcome to the Grand Canyon of Texas, the second largest canyon in North America. Palo Duro consists of 27,000 acres in Randall and Armstrong Counties. What is unique about this canyon is you are driving down into the canyon rather than viewing from the rim.

There are several RV campsites available, be aware that the ride down into the canyon is narrow and steep. The weekends are very busy in the park. I would highly recommend if you plan to RV camp in the canyon you set up or leave during Monday – Friday MAP

Jack Sisemore Traveland RV Museum – 4341 Canyon Dr, Amarillo, TX– If you are in Amarillo and have some time on your hands don’t miss this free exhibit at the rear of Jack’s business. There are some incredible RV restorations in these collections along with many motorcycles.

As mentioned above, this museum is a part of the Traveland RV dealership to scope out a few new rigs while you’re there. The atmosphere is casual so the sales staff will not be attacking you at the door.  MAP
