Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort

Adult Pool and Putt Putt

Written By Dale Libby

I was bitten by the RV bug at a very early age. The day my dad brought home that 12′ pull behind camper my world changed. Tent camping was fine but this rig had running water, toilet, shower, beds and a small stovetop. Times have changed but my love for RVing never dieded.

RV Park Review – Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort – Las Vegas, Nevada

Entrance To Oasis RV Resort – Tight turn into the property.

As they say in their information, “An Ideal location minutes from the famous Las Vegas strip”. This was our second stay, we had a weekly rate which was good but the monthly is the best value. The resort in my mind is a vacation location, you could never leave the park and be very happy.

A) Site Quality: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5

All the sites are paved concrete pads with ample seating areas. All but the standard sites have picnic tables. I would say about 80% of the deluxe sites have a grassy area, all other category sites above that have a grassy area. We have stayed in the Premium and Premium Plus sites. I like to have a bit of grass and be close to the pool and other amenities. Luckily I grabbed a great deal on a Premium Plus back in site this time and I must admit we loved it. The rig was backed up to the pool area, and it was nice seeing all that green. The sites were oversized with plenty of room for the truck and one more car if need be. Sites 302 – 308 have a large shaded sitting area at the rear of the sites. All of the sites have 20/30/50 amp, water, sewer, and cable.

Insights

  • There are over 900 sites in this park. I would say the percentage of back in vs pull through is about 50/50%. There seems to be ample room to jack your rig into the back in’s. You can spread out in every site with the exception of the standard and super savers. A note on the Super Savers, they are back in’s and you on the west side of the property up against 1-15. There are a number of long stays in these slots.
  • The concrete pads on a number of the pull-through sites may give a longer rig some fits with leveling. They like to tip the exit or entry to the pad down leaving you with your back or front jacks needing blocks. This does not seem to be an issue throughout the park, but just a heads up.
  • Sites 300-308, 400-413, 672-675 and 1-15 back up to a grove of pines tree giving you some great shade on those hot summer days.
  • The Standard sites in the park do seem to be filled with long term visitors to Vegas.
B) Facilities: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5

You have 6 Laundry, Restroom, Shower and recycle bin buildings located conveniently in the park. They are very spacious and well cared for. The machines are in perfect working order and there are numerous in each of the facilities.

C) Amenities: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5

Well, let’s run them down, restaurant, fully stocked convenience store, adult pool and hot tub, family pool and beach, exercise room, 18-hole natural greens putting course, horseshoe pits, bocci ball court, security guards, propane, business services, and good wi-fi. Note on the wi-fi, you have over 900 sites and more than likely twice the users, it was slow but usable. Cell service is good in the area, however, we use Verizon and needed our booster to give us full strength for streaming.

D) Location: ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5

You could not be in a better location to explore the Las Vegas Strip. You are a short 15 drive from downtown, but be aware, the traffic in Vegas will slow you down. A good option from the resort would be Uber/Lyft or Taxi. The Casino’s are now charging for parking so you might find that public transportation would be that same as paying to park at the various Casino’s. The Silverton Casino complex is just across the highway with free parking if you need a quick casino fix. The food, grocery and shopping options are endless and mins away. I do like to give shout outs to restaurants but there are too many to mention for Vegas.

However, I will recommend one for a quick meal. We arrived rather late and had some tire issues to deal with as we arrived. A pizza was in order to fill the pie whole. I can highly recommend Pizza My Dear Southeast location. They deliver right to your site and the pies are excellent.

E) Paw – Friendliness – 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾/5

Zoey gave this park, a big paws up approval. They have a number of convenient dog walking areas and a set of 6 runs to unleash your dog to relieve themselves. Zoey and I like to take a good 2 to 3 miles morning walk. Many of the parks we stay in that is not a viable option. You can find a way here by circling the park a couple of times. I’d like to see a few more garbage cans around to dispose of poop bags for the occasional off gated run business stop.

Wanderers Overall Rating:  ⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️⛺️/5

Wanderers Take:

We have not visited other RV parks in the area, so this is our view from visiting this park twice in the last two years. Is this the best choice for a few days or week stay in Vegas, we would say yes based on our two stays. You are in a major metro or city environment. This typically has its own set of problems with security, noise, green space, etc. This park has none of those issues. It truly is an Oasis in the middle of the desert. Yes, you will be getting a bit of highway noise but depending on which side of the park you are on, we prefer the east side the noise will be minimal.

Never Leave

I mentioned above that you could come to the park with the family and never leave. You will be very comfortable at your site with space between you and your neighbor. The main building offers a clubhouse, workout facility, and a restaurant. If the park does not satisfy the itch, the lights and thrills of Vegas are minutes away. There is something for everyone a short hop or day trip away. Head to Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, or Death Valley.

Final Look

Overall we enjoyed our stay at this resort park. The pricing is pretty competitive for this type of site. Look for lower prices during the weekdays, weekly or monthly rates are the best value. The cable is adequate, but who’s watching TV in Vegas, the sites and sounds are just down the road. The Wifi as I mentioned is being shared by over 900 sites. It is slow at times and not a good option if you want to stream. The cell coverage is good, not great in the area. We found that our Verizon service was two to three bars. When we hooked up the WeBoost that changed to a full 5 bars with very good streaming capabilities.

We would absolutely stay here again when we are back in Vegas.

Truck Lane Fueling

You have finally decided that the RV and Car fill up lanes are not for you when it comes to filling your RV fuel tanks. Highway driving takes you past numerous Travel Centers and you have seen your fellow RVer’s in the Truck Fuel Lanes. Why not give it a go, can’t be that much different from what we are doing now. They say it’s much faster to fuel that way and there is DEF at the pumps.

DC Move In

DC Move In

The primary reason we purchased the RV was to visit with family. The secondary reason is to be on call when we are needed. We were needed in Ft. Belvoir, VA to help with a move to a new Military assignment for our Son-In-Law, Daughter, and grandson. It had been some time since we visited the east coast. We lived in NYC for several years during our working days. We knew this was not going to be a budget visit, nor would it be a pleasure to drive in our 35″ Grand Design Solitude 310GK-R in that traffic.

Carolina On My Mind

Carolina On My Mind

There is nothing like a ride through the Carolina pines in the spring. We love the Smokie Mountains, Blue Ridge Parkway, and the shores of North Myrtle Beach. Our good friends in Atlanta have been wanting for us to join them in the North Georgia mountains near Ellijay. The pandemic slowed that to a halt as of last March. Now that we are all fully vaccinated we are looking forward to getting together in the coming weeks.

The itinerary will take us down to Ellijay, GA then south to Augusta. We will then head northeast to North Myrtle Beach, spend the week and then head back to the Smokie Mountains near Pisgah, NC. We can’t wait to get back on the road and off to some of our favorite places to visit. Here is a rundown of the parks we will be visiting. Some of them have been old standby’s, others will offer a new adventure.

Vegas Slow Go

Vegas Slow Go

It was an all hands on deck moment. We had to get to Vegas. Ginny’s mon was in the hospital there and was not doing well. After a week and a half of tests, prods, and pokes, they were going to release her. It was going to be imperative for us to be there to help with home care. We both had concerns about COVID and travel. We have been living in QPI, quiet, peaceful, isolation. I will do my best to give you a snapshot of precautions and COVID protocols at each RV Park.
