Most 20 lb tanks have a tare weight of +/- 17 pounds when completely empty. This means a “full” propane tank should weigh about 37 pounds. Simple pull the tank out and hang it from the scale, boom you have a good read on your levels. I use painters tape marked 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4 attached to my door to place on a tank once I understand the level.
