Soaring Diesel Prices RV Travel
Soaring Diesel fuel prices have forced us to reevaluate our travel during the summer months. We had a rather ambitious itinerary that would take us from Nashville to Jasper, Canada. This featured numerous National Parks and sites along the way and covered almost 6,000 miles. We scraped that after a year of planning and focused on local short hops.
NRVTA Experience
I’m sure you have seen those National RV Training Academy posts in your Facebook feed. You may be following Todd Henson’s “Tech Tip Tuesdays” on YouTube. Are you wondering if these classes are a good fit for you?
Would you like a review from a Do-It-Yourselfer like yourself? I am a recent graduate and have been Certified as an RVTAA Registered Technician. I have put together an overview that I think you will find informative. I would highly recommend the Fundamentals course if you are a new RV owner or for that matter, a vet of sorts like me. Gold Star RV Resorts
These RV parks met or exceeded our expectations based on our style of camping. If your style demands, friendly staff, great facilities, level sites, superior infrastructure including power and wi-fi these are for you,
Cherry Hill Park
Camping in a large metro area always seems like a crape shoot. You are either in a small cramped space with very little green space or the entire park is concrete or blacktop it seems. Typically the rates are high for this precious space. We were not sure what to expect when we arrived at this RV Park. The rates were high, running a little over $105 a night for a premium pull-through. We were pleasantly surprised when we pulled into this location
North Myrtle Beach RV Resort
Updated – April 25, 2021 – New Construction – We have always loved the shoreline of South Carolina near the NC border. We spent many a summer at Holden Beach, NC renting an oceanside home. The crowds you find in Myrtle Beach are not there. It’s quiet, great beaches and there is plenty of fresh seafood. We wanted to find something similar in an RV park.
LazyDays KOA
I do not believe that we will ever find another KOA like this. We had our reservations about staying in this location. Reviews were mixed ranging from outstanding to concerns about its inner-city location. Rest assured from our perspective this is one of the finest KOA’s we have ever stayed at. Snowbirds take note, you could not ask for a better location to spend time away from the cold temps and snow of the north.
Route 66 RV Resort
This was our second stay at this RV park. The first was a rather chaotic stop with battery issues etc. This stop gave us much more time to check out this first-class RV resort. Located on the west side of Albuquerque, NM conveniently off I40 this is the perfect location for short or long term stays. The campground is situated behind the Route 66 Casino and within walking distance or quick free shuttle door to door.

This year’s travels took us back to some of our favorite places and a few new ones, too. We kicked things off at North Myrtle Beach, one of our all-time favorite Atlantic Coast spots. Staying at the North Myrtle Beach RV Resort and Marina gave us the perfect mix of beach time, and laid-back coastal living.
From there, we headed south for a month-long stay near Tampa and St. Pete, where the sunshine, friendly folks, and Gulf Coast charm reminded us why we love Florida winters so much. Later in the year, we made our way to Elkhart, Indiana, and then up to western New York just in time to catch the brilliant fall foliage—a beautiful way to wrap up another great travel season on the road.
Can’t wait to see where the road takes us next! 🚐🌴🍂
