My RV Maintenance Checklist: A Living Document from the Road
A recent Facebook post sparked quite a few requests for my RV Maintenance Checklist — so here it is. You can download the full Excel version using the link at the bottom of this post.
A Few Things Worth Knowing First
First, this is very much a living document. Over the years, I’ve added write-ins, personal reminders, and notes that make sense for the way Ginny and I travel and maintain our 5th Wheel. It may not match your setup exactly, but the core principles will apply to most RVs.
Second, you’ll notice some tasks on the list call for professional assistance. I spent several years as a Registered RV Technician, so I personally tackle quite a few of those myself. But if you’re not comfortable with a particular job, don’t hesitate to hand it off to a certified tech. No shame in that at all.
What’s in My Maintenance Kit
Over time, I’ve put together a maintenance kit that covers just about everything I need for a full run-through. Product preferences are personal, but these three have consistently earned a permanent spot in my kit:
🔧 Boeshield T-9 — Long-lasting corrosion protection and lubrication
🔧 3-IN-One Rubber Seal Conditioner — Keeps seals pliable and protected against cracking
🔧 WD-40 Dry Lube PTFE Spray — Clean, dry lubrication that won’t attract dirt or grime
🔧 Aero Wax&Wash/Aero Wash All – My go-to wash and wax
They cover lubrication, protection, and seal conditioning — four things your RV will thank you for every season.
