Campground ⛺️ review – Multi Stay
Triple R Camping Resort 3491 Bryant Hill Rd, Franklinville, NY 14737
Rates: $37 -$42
This park was brought on by a need to have an RV resort close to our family in Olean, NY. Franklinville is about a 25 min drive north from Olean and RT 86. As indicated above we have stayed at this park twice and my review will reflect those stays.
The resort is located slightly west of RT 16 in Franklinville. Upon arrival, the visual was one of a resort situated on a side of one of the many mountains, hills to some in Western NY. They have a very friendly, over the top helpful staff and the check-in went very quickly during both our stays. Let start with stay #1.
The owner’s wife escorted us to our site. This was one that I choose sight unseen on their website. It was a pull through located in what I thought was the rear of the property. As she started up Main St we began our climb up the side of this hill. The road was narrow but in good shape and the turns as a newbie were tight with overhanging trees. The site #308 a pull through was at the very top of the property, level and had ample green space, fire pit, and table. The set up was pretty easy given that the entire process was new to me.
This location is surrounded by woods and paths into the woods. This proved to be a great walking area for the dogs and us. The park is pretty large so you have plenty of choices for walks. The bathhouse for us was located but a few sites down. It was well maintained and clean.
I ran into a problem with my propane during our stay. The owner could not have been more helpful in solving the issue. After spending some time trying to fill the tanks, he indicated that neither of the tanks had been bled correctly when they were filled. He did not have the tool to bleed them. He offered to loan me a couple of his tanks while we stayed. We did get the tanks bled in Olean, problem resolved.
Now for stay #2. We decided that we would rather be in the lower portion of the park site #619 thinking that it would ease the drive in and set up looked much more level. There were not the shade trees we enjoyed on top but we were close to the pool, lake and various activities that were going on. Frankly being new, I had on heck of a time setting the rig up on this side hill site. It looked level, the site was well graveled but I just could not get the rig to level. I’m sure now looking back it was my experience level that was holding me back
In conclusion, if you are ever in the area a need a park that is family friendly, plenty of actives and the resort puts on events almost every weekend this is the place in Western NY. You are in the country, so pack your groceries, grill, beverages, firewood and enjoy the countryside and this location. I am going to give this a ⛺️⛺️⛺️ 1/2 out of 5 tent review. The country, quite, family friendly, lots of activities.
Park Link: Triple R Camping Resort
Laundry/Bathhouse: Outstanding and very clean. The main location was close to us in the main building. The machines were in good order and the bathhouse had a number of stalls.
Grocery: You are on the west side of the town and there is a small local grocery store in town. You will need to head to Olean for a better selection of stores etc. If you are coming in from the south up RT16 shop in Olean, North….. Arcade might be your choice.
Restaurants: Not much to choose from in town, Olean has a number of places. I can recommend Beef And Barrel, Angee’s, The Bistro, Tasta Pizza.
Activities: We did not partake in any at the park itself. However, there are numerous events put on the park that you should check into. These include theme weekends with bands and such. The pool and new whirlpool looked very inviting.
