RV Park Reviews
LazyDays KOA
I do not believe that we will ever find another KOA like this. We had our reservations about staying in this location. Reviews were mixed ranging from outstanding to concerns about its inner-city location. Rest assured from our perspective this is one of the finest KOA’s we have ever stayed at. Snowbirds take note, you could not ask for a better location to spend time away from the cold temps and snow of the north.
Route 66 RV Resort
This was our second stay at this RV park. The first was a rather chaotic stop with battery issues etc. This stop gave us much more time to check out this first-class RV resort. Located on the west side of Albuquerque, NM conveniently off I40 this is the perfect location for short or long term stays. The campground is situated behind the Route 66 Casino and within walking distance or quick free shuttle door to door.
Bear Creek RV Park
This park has gotten a bad rap over the years. I will be the first to admit that this location is not for everyone. If you intended to come to the Great Smokie Mountains and camp in the woods, this is not for you. Want to enjoy all that is near and dear to Asheville, you could not pick a better place to stay.
Cooking Road Tested
Gnocchi with Squash & Sweet Corn
This recipe is a staple for Ginny and I. We love the fresh taste and ingredients that we can always find on road. It's quick and easy and your eating in about 35 mins. From the Author - This recipe for sweet corn and squash gnocchi came to me on a whim. As much as I...
Sausage, Peppers and Onions
A good sausage sandwich is a staple for Ginny and I. My obsession started when I was a teen in my home town of Olean, NY. Our favorite after school hang was a place called Angee’s.
Nutty Burger
Camping and burgers are like bread and butter, they just go tougher. With a little pre prep at home. You could bring these burgers to table in no time at all. Make these at home, seal a meal them for the trip and your off and running

Itineraries
Homebase Downtime
As this pandemic continues to raise its ugly head, we have decided to hunker down at our Homebase. This frankly provided me with an opportunity for a handful of projects that I wanted to get prior to our next outing. Our last outing took us to Las Cruces, NM where the rig took a good beating from the heat and high winds. Throw in a little tumbleweed, ants, and various other debris and I had my hands full.
Homeward Bound
After spending a little over 14 days in Las Cruces visiting family in El Paso it was time for us to head back to TN. As we watched the spread of the virus inundate Arizona, Texas, and a number of southern states we decided to head directly home. Noticing posts from a number of you regarding crowed campground to the north our plans to head to Colorado then Wyoming east through South Dakota just seemed out of the question.
El Paso Dash
We have been grinding over this trip for the last 2 1/2 months as we wait out this stay-at-home decision. We have been isolated other than going to the grocery store and of course, my morning walks with Zoey for this entire time. I heard a phrase the other day that might describe how we are approaching this first trip out, “Calculated Risk Assessment” travel. We wanted to set a health baseline for our trip so we both have been recently tested for COVID and the results I am happy to say are negative.
