Camping and burgers are like bread and butter, they just go together. With a little pre-prep at home. You could bring these burgers to the table in no time at all. Make these at home, seal a meal them for the trip and your off and running.

Nutty Burger

We have made patties and frozen them raw, then grilled at later date as directed WITHOUT defrosting. If you have grilled more than you eat: Freeze the leftovers OR next day you can reheat in microwave about 1 minute. Precooked frozen burgers should be defrosted in refrigerator first then reheat in microwave.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic finely chopped
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/3 cup Parmesan
  • 2/3 cup pine nuts
  • 1/3 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper

Instructions
 

  • Combine all ingredients; blend well.
  • Shape into six thick patties (or ten 1/4 lb. burgers.)
  • Grill patties, on covered grill, over medium-hot heat 5 minutes each side or until done.
  • *Can use George Forman grill about 5 minutes total.

Notes

REHEAT WITHOUT DRYING OUT: Bring defrosted/precooked burgers to room temperate. Preheat oven 250F. Place precooked defrosted burgers on a cookie sheet fitted with a cooling rack to help with circulation. Add slice of cheese if cheese topping desired Bake 30 minutes. remove from oven. Place burger, cheese side up, in lightly oiled, preheated fry pay and fry 60 seconds. place burger on bun and serve
