Finding Paw Friendly Adventures, One Location At A Time

Hello, my name is Zoey. I am a Labrador/Golden Retriever mix female dog. I was rescued 10 years ago at the Summer Country Animal Shelter. My masters, Dale and Ginny love to travel. That would mean I would be taken to my least favorite place, the kennel while they were gone.

That all changed when they brought home Natasha, a 38′ Open Range 5th wheel travel trailer. Now they load me up in the Boris their RAM 3500, with my seating platform and pillow and off we go together.

I plan to share with you all my favorite Paw Friendly RV resorts, National Parks and more on this page. You will find complete reviews from my perspective. I will also fill you in on some gadgets that make it safe for me to travel and stay in the RV when I need to.

So follow along as I take on the USA one Dog Run and walk at a time.

Here you will find my favorite RV Parks with all the dog friendly amenities that make me happy. Dog Walks, Grassy Sites, Great Walking areas and more

Oasis Amarillo RV Resort

Oasis Amarillo RV Resort

We were looking for a new RV park near Amarillo, TX. Our go-to had always been The Big Texan. Nothing against the Big Texan, we liked the place and the staff but we needed a change. I try to pick locations based on our next destination. In other words, if we are heading west, get to the west side of a city for a less stressful drive out.

LazyDays KOA

LazyDays KOA

I do not believe that we will ever find another KOA like this. We had our reservations about staying in this location. Reviews were mixed ranging from outstanding to concerns about its inner-city location. Rest assured from our perspective this is one of the finest KOA’s we have ever stayed at. Snowbirds take note, you could not ask for a better location to spend time away from the cold temps and snow of the north.

Zoey's Tips & Tricks For Traveling With Dogs

Traveling with your pets and in our case Zoey a 75 lb. Yellow Labrador was one of the primary reasons we wanted an RV. Boarding Zoey every time we wanted to take a vacation or just day trip or two was just not working. Once we committed to the RV lifestyle we learned rather quickly that this would call for some advance planning. Our new challenge would be preparing for a month or longer trips.

We have put together a shortlist of some tips and suggestions we have for traveling with your dog, big or small. This certainly is not a definitive list and we would love to hear from you regarding your preparation. So let’s get started with some of the basics.

Zoey’s Favorite Itineraries

Best Pet-Friendly RV Parks, Attractions and more. Complete details of the trips.

Arizona, Texas

This trip started in Vegas at one of her Paw Perfect RV parks Oasis, Las Vegas. Heading southwest along RT-96 to Phoenix then dropping down to I-10 through Arizona and New Mexico. We pointed the rig north and headed to Carlsbad with some great stops along the way.

Viva Las Vegas

This was the first trip of the 2019 season. We packed up and headed south to Milton, FL. From there we made our way west on I-10 stopping in some of Zoey’s favorite cities. San Antonio, Tucson, and Lafayette. Great walks along rivers and in a few National Parks.

The Carolina’s

What’s could be bad about going to the beach every morning for a great walk along the Atlantic shoreline. This trip was Zoey’s first beach experience, she loved it. North Myrtle Beach allows dogs on the beach prior to 9 am. Couple that with stops in New Bern, here fav. KOA is there and Ashville, NC and she was in bliss.
