RV Maintenance Schedule
I’ve had a number of requests from a recent Facebook post for my Maintenance Checklist. (I will include a link below) Let me first say the list for me is a living document. I have a number of write-ins that act as a reminder for me. There are a number of tasks that ask for technical assistance. I was a Registered RV Technician for a few years, so I do tackle these tasks as well.

I have flushed out our itineraries with RV park reviews, attractions, nearby restaurants, and our favorite sites.
Carolina On My Mind
There is nothing like a ride through the Carolina pines in the spring. We love the Smokie Mountains, Blue Ridge Parkway, and the shores of North Myrtle Beach. Our good friends in Atlanta have been wanting for us to join them in the North Georgia mountains near Ellijay. The pandemic slowed that to a halt as of last March. Now that we are all fully vaccinated we are looking forward to getting together in the coming weeks.
The itinerary will take us down to Ellijay, GA then south to Augusta. We will then head northeast to North Myrtle Beach, spend the week and then head back to the Smokie Mountains near Pisgah, NC. We can’t wait to get back on the road and off to some of our favorite places to visit. Here is a rundown of the parks we will be visiting. Some of them have been old standby’s, others will offer a new adventure.
Vegas Slow Go
It was an all hands on deck moment. We had to get to Vegas. Ginny’s mon was in the hospital there and was not doing well. After a week and a half of tests, prods, and pokes, they were going to release her. It was going to be imperative for us to be there to help with home care. We both had concerns about COVID and travel. We have been living in QPI, quiet, peaceful, isolation. I will do my best to give you a snapshot of precautions and COVID protocols at each RV Park.
RV Arrives
The manufactures were having difficulty keeping up with demand. Undaunted, we forged ahead with our plans and made our purchase decision. Now for our final installment in this series. After the promised, 10-12 week build schedule our Grand Design Solitude 310GK-R has arrived in Cookeville, TN. Here are the details of the delivery, PDI, and our Shakedown run.
RV Purchase
Welcome to Part 3 of this four-part series of posts featuring our attempts to find a new rig. In our first post, New RV Search we ran down the reasons we wanted to make the move. We also found out that the journey was going to be a rocky road. RV For Sale we took you through the efforts we made to sell outright or go the trade-in route.The surge of RV sales brought on by COVID-19 diminished inventories at the dealerships. The manufactures were having difficulty keeping up with demand. Undaunted, we forged ahead with our plans.

New Bern KOA
Sometimes you just pick a winner. We have stayed at a number of KOA during our travels. This location by far has been the best on any we have stayed at. Shortly before our arrival and prior to me booking this location we got a notice from KOA that this was the KOA 2019 Campground of the Year. Our first reaction was, this should be interesting, what are the makings of Campground of the Year? I hope my notes below can begin to explain why this campground got a well-deserved award. Let’s walk it down.
Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort
As they say in their information, “An Ideal location minutes from the famous Las Vegas strip”. This was our second stay, we had a weekly rate which is the best value. This is in my mind a vacation location, you could never leave the park and be happy.
Traveler World RV Resort
If you are ever near or plan a trip to Texas, San Antonio is a must stop. This RV Park Is a MUST STAY !!!! When we pulled into this location around 1pm, there where about 7 RV’s in the waiting Q to check in.
Travel Gallery
As we closed out 2021, my newfound RV repair and upgrade confidence was at an all-time high. I took on an RV power grid upgrade adding solar to our rig. The install went as planned and is working flawlessly. We had penned in an appointment with MorRyde to upgrade our suspension in April of 2022. We got a call in early September asking if we wanted to have this done sooner. We jumped at the chance. 2022 started a bit slow due to health issues involving my knees. This called for some injections therapy and time to rehab a bit. We started our 2022 season with an itinerary I called Spring Flowers. This took us to Washington, DC, Myrtle Beach, and the southern Smokie Mountains. Fuel pricing has us making shorter hopes at the moment. We discovered Anchor Downs in east TN and loved our stay. Here are a few new shots.
